“At the Celebration of Thinking 2025, I had the chance to directly interact with students who’ve played our board game. Since I don’t spend much time interacting with our users face-to-face, it was such a delight getting to meet young people who were deeply impacted by their experience playing, and hearing insights far beyond what I’d expect from their age.”

“Watching high school students from South Korea and Canada team up to tackle a real challenge: How might we use AI to improve the experience of first-year international students at the University of Toronto?”

“My favourite I-Think moment was at the recent Celebration of Thinking event, hosted by Deloitte. Hearing Roger Martin speak about thinking and the Short family speak about their father and their commitment to students was so inspiring. I was particularly impressed with the student presentations - they spoke with confidence, and at a level that far surpassed what I would expect given their ages. It was a truly memorable experience.”

“My favourite I-Think moment was visiting middle school students at UTS over the summer as they shared their ideas for making Dufferin Mall more sustainable. The quality of their work and the depth of their thinking genuinely amazed me! Their solutions were thoughtful, creative, and practical. What impressed me most was how quickly they developed such strong ideas; unlike when my high school class worked on a Challenge Kit and had months to plan, these students only had a week. Seeing their enthusiasm and problem-solving skills reminded me why I love being part of I-Think’s work.”

“My favorite part about I-Think was watching transformation happen in real time: when a group of secondary students realized that they had influence over some AI practices at their school. They felt empowered by the Pro-Pro concept and ended up implementing new practices for their school community.”

“One of my favourite moments at I-Think is learning that teachers and guidance councillors notice a difference in the ways students from her Student Leadership Group at Central Technical School engage, communicate and address problems, compared to students who were not in the program.”

“My favourite I-Think moment is helping to steer the interviews of a number of Canadian veterans and active service members. I had the privilege of meeting and learning from these Canadians and their remarkable stories of sacrifice and service. This memory sticks out for me because I learned first hand how these stories can impact the learning of students participating in our challenges, in terms of building deep empathy and understanding. I know that these experiences have fundamentally changed my own understanding of this important aspect of Canadian education and national storytelling.”

“My favourite moment was listening to a student's reflection on what he learned through Integrative Thinking and real-world problem solving. He spoke about coming into the class thinking that he was better, smarter than everyone else. He titled his presentation “Reflective Scepticism”. He said that he learned what it means to be able to question your own ideas. He learned how much there was to learn from others. He said how they made him better, and their work better. After all these years it’s still my favourite because it opened my eyes to the potential of this work.”
