See our impact. It works because it changes how people think and therefore act. I-Think’s approach helps problem solvers see problems from multiple perspectives, uncover hidden assumptions, and find creative solutions that hold opposing ideas in tension. This builds deep understanding, empathy, and lasting problem-solving skills that transfer beyond the classroom.

I-Think headquarters is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We have had national and international participation in Challenge Kits and Professional Development Programs.
We acknowledge that we are being hosted on distinct and diverse traditional territories of the First Nations and Métis where we live. At I-Think we are on lands that are governed by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant. The idea is that we all can peacefully live together in sharing this one dish, this land and all that it provides, so long as we each are mindful of only taking what we need. We also recognize the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and the Inuit peoples.

Integrative Thinking is a methodology coined by Roger Martin and studied at the Rotman Commerce Business School at the University of Toronto. Along with a tool called the Pro-Pro chart, it’s a way of thinking that helps people tackle complex problems by holding opposing ideas in tension, without rushing to pick one side. Instead of choosing between options, integrative thinkers explore the strengths and limitations of each option, and then design a new solution that’s better than either one alone.
I-Think’s Real-World Problem Solving Journey is a 5 stage process that helps schools bring authentic, community-connected challenges into learning. It includes and is underpinned by Integrative Thinking.
